About Me
Photographing horses first stemmed from watching and photographing one of my best friend breaking in a horse. The yard he was based at ran small shows and they invited me to be their official photographer. Word spread about my work and year on year I took on new events across the South East of England. I now photograph a wide range of equine events across the South East and travel further afield for National Shows.
During the early days of my career I found an interest in the relationship that the horse and riders had as they competed. I initially wanted to explore the connection that made them such a good team in the ring but by taking natural photos I found that I was taking very personal images that the rider could treasure for years to come. This natural and pure imagery has driven my focus more and more to provide the 'equine photo shoots' I offer as I love providing clients with high quality photos of them and their close friends away from events in their everyday surroundings.
My life has always been spent in the countryside, up until the age of 15 years old I grew veg that I showed at my village's annual horticultural show with my Dad. In 2004 we moved to a small village, where we still live, and we bought some pekin bantams to roam the garden and provide us with eggs. My father is a gardener/fencer by trade and my Grandfather was a herdsman so I enjoy going back to my routes and exploring the British countryside both with and without my camera.
Amy is not only my partner but also plays a huge part in the running of my business. She often helps with the minor day to day runnings of the business along with the photo shoots and events I photograph. She has a 16hh Irish mare called Ruby and their friendship has shown me just how strong a bond can be - they're pictured in the slide show.
